Story

My eldest brother Matthew died from SUDEP (sudden unexpected death due to epilepsy) On March 18th 2007 which happened to be Mother's Day as well as our Nan's Birthday. Matthew was just 20 and had everything ahead of him. SUDEP has no known cause.

Matt was diagnosed with epilepsy shortly after he passed his driving test and had to stop driving but worst for him he could no longer be a member of the RAF and fly planes which had been his life long ambition. Every holiday we would visit the local RAF base and sit watching planes taking off whilst listening to him telling us what plane was what - very exciting NOT!

Matthew eventually went to university in Newcastle but because of his condition couldn't join in the usual student fun, drinking and parties and epilepsy do not mix well, so he came home to Dunoon to live with us again and worked locally at TSC where he made many friends in the time he was there, he planned to settle down and marry eventually.

Matt wanted to do many things but epilepsy stopped him doing them, so I've decided that I'm going to try something I think he would have loved - jumping OUT of an plane, a plane that has taken off and in the sky - whoo hoo.

So what I need from you is a donation so that Epilepsy Action can use the money to research epilepsy and it's causes, to support young people who suffer with Epilepsy continue to lead normal lives and more importantly give more information regarding the condition to families.
